Barbados - Post 2

Hello,

Yesterday we went to Bridgetown which is the capital of Barbados. We looked around the markets and bought some yams which we are going to cook and try tonight! A man was selling some ice cones (a bit like slush puppies) so Euan and I had blueberry flavour and Dad had Guava. Mum went for a slice of water melon instead!

In the afternoon we tried a new beach where the sea was much calmer and followed it up having a nice meal in a resturant called Marco Polo near to where we are staying.

This morning Euan and Dad had an unexpected fishing experience. On the rocks just by our villa a man called Ricky, who we had met before, called over for them to join him. Euan caught a fish that the man called a 'high forehead!' They had a brilliant morning whilst the girlies relaxed! We then went to another couple of beaches where the waves were really high which was perfect for body-boarding! Whilst we were on the beach Dad noticed we were sitting next to the famous cricket players Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain! We had yet another great day!

We have taken lots of pictues today but are unable to upload them. Instead when we get back to the UK we are going to do a big picture post so you can see what we got up to!

  1. Well what a day! It all sounds so fantastic - beaches, food, fishing, relaxing and even famous cricketers (even I've heard of them so I'm sure Grandad will - he's still in bed fast asleep!). Barbados sounds such a wonderful place to holiday, and Dad's looking very happy and content - and tanned already! Can't match the weather and location, but we did have all the McCabes over yesterday afternoon. No cooking for me - U Richard ordered pizzas from your favourite Pizza Express in Godalming! Now, is there a Pizza Express in Barbados?!! Have another wonderful day - looking forward to the next instalment and the picture show when you get home. Lots of love to you all - Nanny and Grandad xxxx

  2. Well what can I say! Nanny has said it all, Barbados certainly sounds like it's the place to be. I was told some years ago by friends who had a number of holidays there how lovely it is and how friendly everyone is. I wonder if the famous cricketers realised that they were sitting next to such a lovely family!! Grandpa is sure to ask if Dad is holding a bottle of Bank's when he sees the photo. Have another great day, hope you enjoy the yams. Lots of love to all - Grandma & Grandpa xxxx
