Bad Schandau - Germany

Hello,

We've had another brilliant day!

We started with a walk which was lovely. It was a bit cooler today but still very hot compared to England (about 28°C) so it was great weather for a stroll! The walk led us to some huge rocks which had steps between them leading to a very picturesque view over the forest below so definitely worthwhile.

We then went to the spa in Bad Schandau which was fantastic! There was a huge outside swimming pool which was beautiful as the trees were all around the outside - not a bad place for a quick dip! My personal favourite part was a salt water, hot pool inside a big dark room. The salt water meant it was really easy to float and on the ceiling calming pictures were projected. There were also underwater speakers playing relaxing music which you could hear if you floated on the water and put your ears under. It was brilliant and I don't think I've ever been so relaxed (perhaps not including yoga!).

To add to our already brilliant day we then went out for a meal at a lovely Italian restaurant followed by a FREE ice-cream!

A fantastic day, thank you again for the comments! Love Neve xx

  1. That all sounds so lovely apart from putting your ears under and the big dark room! Think I would have to do what we do when we go to a posh spa hotel - love and enjoy the surroundings but don't make use of any of the facilities! What a waste you all say! Certainly a beautiful place though - loved the photos. So glad you had another great day. It must have felt more comfortable with the temperature dropping slightly. Pleased you finished it off with a good meal and a freebee - and not a voucher or coupon changed hands!! Good day again here and we had lunch in the garden then AJ and I sat and chatted whilst Grandad did a little more "pottering". We also had a Pimms and wine to celebrate Eve & Gary's engagement. Not that they were here - they had yet another wedding to go to! I'm sure you have another active day planned for tomorrow so look forward to hearing all about it when you can. Love to you all from N & G xx

  2. What a beautiful place to take a stroll! I would probably have found those steps a bit of a struggle but for a view like that I'd give it a try. So glad you are making the most of the good weather - we have had one or two decent days now but nothing like the temperature you're getting. I haven't mentioned ice creams on this holiday but have noticed that you are still getting your share and now they are coming Free - can't be bad! Look forward to reading about your next wonderful day. Lots of love to you all from Grandma and Grandpa xx
