The heroes of the trip so far

Pi

Thought it was time that Dad wrote another blog entry. Neve has been rather humble on a couple of her posts and so I thought I would set the record straight. The most impressive day was yesterday around Brienzersee - the eastern lake of the two lakes that Interlaken sits in between.

Neve was correct - they cycled 26 miles. The first half of which was mountainous with a couple of 1 in 5 hills that I struggled up. Neve did indeed have a fall (not dangerous) and at the half-way point we gave them a choice of a train ride back or continuing round. At that stage we believed the second half was as "hilly" as the first. One parent was secretly hoping that they would choose the train! Well, both kids decided to cycle and off we went. While thankfully flatter than the first half, it was still another 13 miles which is impressive.

So, they have been very active and more action is planned. Everyone is enjoying themselves - weather is excellent (actually getting some rain but nothing to concern us). That said, the rain we got at the football game made headline news in the newspapers the next day - Neve has a cutting for her scrap book.

One technical point - if you click on the pictures in the blog then you get them full size (just hit back in the browser to get back to the blog I think.)

Off to rest (had day to myself today and did a 50 mile loop on the bike before meeting family at the Lido).

  1. It's good to see that you are all having such a good time and looking very well too with all the exercise and fresh air you're getting. The pictures are also much more interesting now we are able to see them properly, thanks for the tip. mom
